Msgr. Schaedel - speaking August 22

Msgr. Schaedel is a priest of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. After serving as a teacher (Holy Name, Beech Grove, 1968-72) and principal (Saint Roch, Indianapolis, 1972-78), and part-time radio announcer and disc jockey, he entered Saint Meinrad Seminary. He was ordained to the priesthood on May 22, 1982, at the cathedral in Indianapolis by Archbishop Edward T. O'Meara. He was named a prelate of honor (monsignor) in 1997.

Since ordination, Msgr. Schaedel has served as an associate pastor at Saint Michael and Saint Monica parishes in Indianapolis, and Saint Malachy Parish in Brownsburg. From 1982 and 1994, he served on the staff of Cardinal Ritter Junior/Senior High School in Indianapolis as an instructor of mathematics and religion, chaplain, assistant principal. He was named the school's first president in 1991, a post he held until 1994.

Monsignor Schaedel was appointed Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis in 1994. He also serves as pastor at Holy Rosary Church in Indianapolis and Director of the Propagation of the Faith, the Holy Childhood Association, and Catholic Relief Services for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. He has served in the past as interim Director of Catholic Education and Faith Formation, and interim Chief Financial Officer for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.

Msgr. Schaedel is the Treasurer of the Catholic Community Foundation, a member of the Archdiocesan College of Consultors, Archdiocesan Finance Council, the Council of Priests, the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council, Catholic Cemeteries Board of Directors, Marian College Board of Trustees, the Damien Center Board of Directors, and the Advisory Board for the Little Sisters of the Poor. He is past chaplain for the St. Raphael Society for Catholic Physicians. Currently he also serves as chaplain for the Indiana Chapter of Legatus, and for the Lumen Dei business guild.


Sean Gallagher - speaking August 8

Sean Gallagher, a reporter for The Criterion and a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Parish in Greenwood, studied history and music history as an undergraduate at Marian College, earned a master’s degree in medieval history at the University of Notre Dame, and two masters in theology at Saint Meinrad School of Theology.  He taught Church history for Saint Meinrad in several deacon formation programs in dioceses across the country.  He has also given workshops on Church history and other theological and spiritual topics for Catholic organizations and in several parishes, including St. Joseph Parish in Shelbyville, where he served as director of religious education for over three years before moving on to The Criterion. He has also published as a free-lance writer in such publications as The National Catholic Register, Envoy, Our Sunday Visitor and Lay Witness.


Brendan McGuire - speaking July 25

Brendan McGuire is a young Catholic historian who specializes in the study of the Middle Ages. After graduating from Christendom College in 2003, he earned his M.A. in Medieval History from Saint Louis University, where he is currently completing the requirements for the doctoral degree. He has spoken at scholarly conferences on various aspects of medieval religion, society, and culture, and has joined a growing movement of scholars seeking to emphasize the central role played by the Catholic Faith in the most important events and achievements of the medieval era. On July 25, he will speak about the Crusades.


Father Brian Dudzinski - speaking July 11

Fr. Dudzinski was raised in the Lafayette area and has been a priest for the Lafayette Diocese since his ordination on June 7th, 1997.  Since his ordination, he has been the associate pastor for St. Mary's Parish in Muncie, IN and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Carmel, IN.  Most recently, he was the pastor for St. Joseph's Parish in Lebanon, IN.  Currently, with the rapid expansion of Hamilton County, Fr. Dudzinski is guiding the efforts of establishing a new parish for the Lafayette Diocese, St. John Vianney in Fishers, IN.  Fr. Dudzinski will share his experiences of building a parish from ground zero and how this parallels with our duty as young Catholics to build a stronger community presence for the Church.


David Siler - speaking June 27

Mr. David Siler is currently the Executive Director, Secretariat for Catholic Charities and Family Ministries for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. Mr. Siler graduated with a Business degree from Ball State and a Master of Social Work in Family Therapy from Indiana University. Mr. Siler is affiliated with many local and national charities, has spent timeless hours as a therapist and counselor to numerous social programs, and was most recently the Executive Director for St. Elizabeth's Not-For-Profit Maternity Residence, Pregnancy and Adoption Services. With the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, Mr. Siler provides executive leadership and oversight of the six agencies of Catholic Charities.


Fr. Jonathan Meyer - speaking June 13

Fr Jonathan Meyer is the Director of the Youth & Young Adult Ministires Office of the Archdiocese.  He was raised on the southside of Indianapolis.  After attending college, he answered his call to the seminary.  Fr Meyer attended the Pontifical College in Rome for his studies.  Upon ordination in June 2003, Fr Meyer was the associate pastor of Our Lady of the Greenwood.  Always a favorite of Theolgy on Tap and young adults, Fr Meyer has given numerous talks on the Theology of the Body, "Passion of the Christ", and the life of St Francis
